School of Film and Television — Shanghai University
Shanghai University and the Center for Chinese Studies (CCS), with the cooperation of the Department of Film Studies at UC Berkeley, have established a cooperative research center for the study of Chinese and American film and culture, The Shanghai-Berkeley Film and Media Research Center, housed by the Center for Chinese Studies at Berkeley.
Both UC Berkeley and Shanghai University are renowned and active centers for the study of Chinese film and media studies. The primary purpose of the Shanghai-Berkeley Center will be to promote scholarly exchange between our institutions, as well as to serve as a global hub for research in these fields.
The Center will facilitate collaborative faculty research on film and media studies, enable graduate student exchanges between our two institutions, and organize scholarly conferences on Chinese film culture and media studies.
