Cultural representations of the Chinese Diaspora in South East Asia in relation to the rise of East Asian capitalism. Projects: traffic of mainland women sex-workers to Hong Kong, focusing on the films of the Hong Kong director, Fruit Chan, and the relation between civil society activism in Hong Kong and Southern China and financial globalization in the wake of the 1997 handover to China.
