Research Interests: Keiko Yamanaka, Ph.D., a sociologist, is a Continuing Lecturer in the Departments of Ethnic Studies and International & Area Studies (IAS) at University of California, Berkeley. She teaches: “Asian American Women,” “Introduction to Asian Studies,” and “Migration and Multiculturalism in Asia.” She has studied transnational migration and social transformation in Japan, including Japanese Brazilians and unauthorized Nepalese, and feminized migration and civil society for migrant workers in Asia.
