Admission is open to all qualified students from the United States and other countries. Students currently enrolled in university undergraduate and graduate programs or those who hold university degrees are all welcome to apply. Professionals (lawyers, consultants, journalists, etc.) working in China-related fields as well as professionals currently working in China are also encouraged to apply.
Admission to IUP programs is competitive and determined by the IUP Committee of Admissions and Awards. Applicants should have a Chinese language level that is roughly equal to two years of college level Mandarin, be able to demonstrate comparable proficiency in the language, and have an excellent academic record.
Students attending IUP may apply to continue their studies for a Summer term, another Semester or Academic Year as long as space is available.
Students who have attended IUP in the past are also eligible to apply to attend any of the programs.
Programs may also be combined as Summer and Semester (6 months) or Summer and Academic Year (10 months).
IUP considers all applicants on an equal basis without regard to race, religion, or gender.
Currently, IUP facilities in Beijing are not handicap accessible.
