Deadlines

Program Date
Academic Year Program, 2010-2011 RECEIVED by January 13, 2010*
Semester Program,
Fall 2010 or Spring 2011
RECEIVED by January 13, 2009* – Please note that Academic Year applicants receive priority over Semester applicants, but IUP has been able to accommodate most of its qualified Semester applicants.
Summer Program, 2010 Rolling Admissions until January 27, 2010 – Please read about Rolling Admissions below!

Academic Year and Semester Program applications must be RECEIVED by the deadline. Ideally, letters of reference and transcripts should arrive with the application or arrive separately at the Berkeley office before the deadline, but it is acceptable if letters and transcripts arrive at the Berkeley office up to one week past the deadline. After that time, your application will be considered incomplete.

Late applications that are 100% complete will be evaluated and considered as space permits.

NOTE: New Rolling Admissions Policy for Summer Applicants!

IUP will review complete summer applications soon after they arrive at the IUP-Berkeley office, rather than hold admissions after the summer program deadline (January 27, 2010). Admission is competitive, and it is recommended that you send in all of your summer application materials by the end of 2009 due to limited space at IUP's language center. Incomplete or complete applications that arrive in mid-January are at a disadvantage, because many complete applications will arrive at the IUP Berkeley office in December 2009. IUP admits summer applicants on a "first qualified applicant come, first qualified applicant served" basis. Rolling admissions is not the policy for IUP's academic year/semester program admissions, however.

* Applicants have approximately two months from the Academic Year/Semester program deadline to prepare for their 15-minute language interview over the phone with an IUP instructor. It is advisable that applicants make use of this two-month period to increase their chances of passing their interviews.
