CKS offers scholarship for 2010 Korea America Student Conference

The Center for Korean Studies is pleased to announce that it will offer one scholarship for a student to attend the third Korea America Student Conference this summer. This award is open to any undergraduate student with an interest in Korea who otherwise meets the criteria of the KASC program. The KASC program, which began in 2008 with the inaugural conference co-hosted by UC Berkeley, is a student-led cultural and academic exchange program that brings together 25 Korean and 25 American students together to discuss issues facing the two countries. No Korean language training is necessary.

This year the month-long conference takes place in Washington, DC; Philadelphia; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Stanford, California, from July 12 through August 12, 2010.

This scholarship will award $3,000, covering the entire cost of the summer program, including airfare.

For the KASC program and application materials, see: http:// www. iscdc. org/. The deadline to apply to KASC is March 5, 2010, and applications should be submitted directly to KASC in Washington D.C.

To apply for the CKS scholarship, students should submit a copy of their KASC application, by hard copy or by e-mail (PDF format preferred), to the Center for Korean Studies by Friday, March 12, 2010.

Note: In past years, the KASC program has extended the application deadline. In the event that they do so this year, this page will be updated and CKS will accept applications submitted by the new deadline.
