Robert Scalapino's Memoirs (Chinese version) released by Peking University Press

On June 10, 2011, Robert A. Scalapino, Emeritus Professor of University of California at Berkeley, U.S., visited Peking University and attended the release ceremony of his memoir From Leavenworth to Lhasa: Living in a Revolutionary Era (Chinese Version) at Tan Siu Lin Center for International Studies. The release ceremony was co-organized by the School of International Studies of PKU, Beijing Forum and Peking University Press and presided over by Professor Wang Jisi, Dean of School of International Studies of PKU. Senior Professor Zhao Baoxu from the School of International Studies, Professor Xue Mouhong, former Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Zhang Kunsheng, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, Yan Jun, Secretary-General of Beijing Forum, Geng Xiefeng, Director of Office of Humanity and Social Sciences of Peking University Press and some professors and students from the School of International Studies also attended the ceremony.

Many former IEAS visiting scholars attended the release ceremony, including Wang Jisi (current Dean of the School of international Studies of PKU), Zhao Baoxu (former Dean of the School of International Studies), and Xue Mouhong (former Chinese ambassador to Kenya).

The English version of his memoir was published by IEAS in 2008.
