Visiting Scholars

Scholars in the China field from throughout the world tender applications for visiting scholar status at the Center. These honorary affiliates are chosen on the strength of their research projects and the ability of the faculty or library resources on the Berkeley campus to meet their research needs. Scholars generally remain at the Center for six months to two years, conduct research independently, and are expected to complete the project they originally proposed. They are also to participate regularly in the Center's scholarly life and academic programs. These scholars are granted basic access to the university library system, limited photocopy and mailing privileges, and shared office space, if available.
