The Institute of East Asian Studies is thrilled to announce that Professor Yan Long (Sociology) has been awarded the 2026 Joseph Levenson Book Prize (Post-1900 category) by the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) for her book, Authoritarian Absorption: The Transnational Remaking of Epidemic Politics in China (Oxford University Press).
The Levenson Prize is awarded annually to English-language books that make "the greatest contribution to increasing understanding of the history, culture, society, politics, or economy of China."
