Institute of East Asian Studies Ideas Grants
2024-25: Oceans
Program Description
The Institute of East Asian Studies (IEAS) invites ideas for new projects around the theme of Oceans.
The Ideas Grants aims to spark fresh conversations and research collaborations across campus. Projects and outputs may take any form that encourages new synergies across existing campus strengths. Application teams of two to three faculty must include at least one core faculty whose chief research specialization is East or Southeast Asia.
Up to three grants of $5,000 - $7,500 will be awarded. Preference will be given to pitches and proposals that open up new channels of communication across disciplines, perspectives, and career stages. Collaborations between humanists, social scientists and natural scientists are especially encouraged.

Deadline: Friday October 4, 2024.
Stage 2: Propose
Selected applicants will be invited to develop fuller proposals by Friday, October 25, 2024.
