About Us

The Filipinx & Philippine Studies Working Group (FPS) provides a regular meeting space for graduate students, undergraduates, and faculty to discuss new and critical scholarship in Filipino/Filipino American/Filipinx and Philippine studies. We bring these fields together through interdisciplinary collaborations among our working group members.

The working group aims to foster support for intellectual interrogation, student research, and recent publications while developing ties across our professional, humanities, and interdisciplinary departments. We seek to operate not only as a space for on-campus scholars, but also as a networking hub for off-campus junior and senior faculty, independent scholars, artists, and community organizations.

With existing on-campus resources, the working group participates in, and collaborates with, other campus working groups, local Filipinx American organizations, international and U.S.-wide Philippine studies initiatives, and scholarly networks with Philippine-based researchers.
